We are seeking an experienced Experimental Quantum Physicist to join our team at Universal Quantum. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our quantum computing technology.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and calibrate ion-trap quantum computing hardware, applying your expertise in experimental quantum technologies.
- Develop and implement quantum control protocols for ion shuttling and quantum gates, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
- Perform calibration, optimization, and characterization procedures on quantum computing hardware, analyzing results to inform future developments.
- Conduct data analysis on experimental results, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop theoretical models and simulations to compare experimental measurements with predicted quantum dynamics, refining our understanding of quantum systems.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts, including software engineers, electrical engineers, physicists, and quantum engineers, to drive innovation and progress.
- Contribute to the development of new concepts and technologies, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in quantum computing.
- Proven experience operating, calibrating, and characterizing experiments for quantum technologies, with a strong understanding of precision-timed control systems and signal processing.
- Experience operating RF and microwave control hardware, with a working knowledge of quantum control protocols and their implementation on hardware.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a track record of publishing research results in the field of quantum physics.
- Strong organizational skills, with experience working with customers and partners to drive project success.
- Postdoctoral experience in a related field, with a strong background in quantum computing and experimental physics.
- Proficiency in Python programming, with experience in data analysis and simulation tools.
