**About the Department of IT**
The Department of IT is the central service unit for communication technology, digital information processing, and media supply at the University of Hohenheim. Our IT Support team is responsible for the secure operation and development of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) system, including multi-factor authentication, as well as the associated directory services NetIQ eDirectory, OpenLDAP, and MS Active Directory.
**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Specialist for Directory Services to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Administering and developing the IAM/eDirectory/OpenLDAP/MS Active Directory systems, including 2nd-level support and implementing security measures to protect the systems from cyber threats.
- Developing and implementing organizational policies to harden the MS Active Directory structure, including updating the disaster recovery plan.
- Providing and configuring interfaces to supply data from various IT systems at the University, based on Windows and Linux platforms.
- Developing and implementing a concept for introducing multi-factor authentication and training IT service desk staff to support users.
**Requirements**
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of operating a user administration system (NetIQ IAM) and a directory service (NetIQ eDirectory, OpenLDAP) as well as basic knowledge of current Linux server systems and containerization.
- Extensive knowledge of operating a complex MS Active Directory infrastructure (e.g., installing and operating ADs/DCs in a forest, adapting and maintaining GPOs, AD recovery) and sound knowledge of current Windows server systems and object-oriented programming (e.g., PowerShell, C#).
- Team player with the ability to work independently in new areas.
- Conceptual competence, high quality awareness, good communication and cooperation skills, and a high level of service orientation.
- Fluent German language skills in writing and speaking, as well as good English language skills.
