Postdoctoral Researcher in Green Hydrogen Financing (m / f / d)
The Professorship of Public Policy for the Green Transition (PPGT) is dedicated to the formulation and assessment of policies aimed at facilitating the global green transition. Our team employs a diverse array of methodologies, from automated data analytics (such as machine learning) to qualitative research techniques (including interviews), to advocate for ambitious climate and energy policies.
This postdoctoral role focuses on the pivotal role of green hydrogen in achieving decarbonization across various challenging sectors, particularly in exploring the economic viability of different financing models (public, private, blended) tailored to specific use cases. A significant aspect of this position will involve evaluating various developmental trajectories for the establishment of green hydrogen infrastructure, influenced by geographical and economic contexts. This includes an in-depth analysis of Ukraine's potential to emerge as a green hydrogen hub, utilizing geo-spatial energy models developed in collaboration with project partners. Consequently, this role directly contributes to strategies aimed at revitalizing energy infrastructure and devising financing solutions to enhance the global scale of green hydrogen initiatives.
Qualifications Required:
- PhD in a policy-related discipline (e.g., public policy, political economy, economics, political science)
- Experience in project management and strong self-management skills
- Enthusiasm for collaborative projects with international stakeholders and direct engagement with policymakers
- Passion for working within an interdisciplinary team comprising energy modelers and public policy experts
- Familiarity with Ukraine, its energy landscape, or proficiency in the Ukrainian language is advantageous
- Background in the financial sector or consulting is beneficial
- Interest in nature or biodiversity, with basic knowledge being a plus
- Willingness to contribute to educational initiatives
