We are seeking a highly skilled PhD researcher to join our team at Bosch, focusing on the development of advanced models for PEM electrolyzers. The successful candidate will work on enhancing our understanding of electrode function and performance, with a focus on membrane-electrode-assembly (MEA) in PEM electrolyzers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and validate models for the electrochemical function and performance of MEA in PEM electrolyzers, considering complex interplay of physical mechanisms.
- Ensure models are universally applicable to both pristine and degraded states of the MEA, contributing to our multi-scale toolbox for lifetime prediction on stack level.
- Utilize public and internal sources to parametrize and validate models, conducting model-based analyses to boost understanding of cause-effect relationships and identify improvement measures for our technology.
- Collaborate with our internal team and academic environment to share knowledge and results in high-impact journals, leveraging expertise in electrochemistry and transport phenomena.
- Make active use of existing expertise and knowledge to deliver a valuable contribution to our electrolyzer model.
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong background in electrochemistry and transport phenomena, with experience in modeling and/or characterization of electrochemical energy storage devices or converters.
- Programming skills in Python, as well as experience with simulation tools (Comsol) or numerical optimization methods.
- Business fluent in English, with German being an advantage.
