Position: Hearing Technicians Job Type: Part-Time On-CallOverview
The mission of our Hearing Conservation team is to enhance auditory readiness and preservation by identifying and evaluating existing and potential hearing risks, developing and disseminating hearing health solutions, and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our Hearing Conservation Program. This includes supporting advanced strategies for monitoring and assessing hearing performance using innovative audiometric methods.
Hearing Conservation Technicians play a vital role in our program by managing patient schedules and conducting various hearing assessments, including otoscopy and immittance testing. They are responsible for executing regular surveys to guarantee the proper use of hearing protection and implementing noise reduction strategies. Additionally, they provide training and education on hearing protection fitting and conduct safety briefings.
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree required. Certification: Completion of an accredited program in Occupational Hearing Conservation or a certified course is mandatory within a specified timeframe after hiring. Minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare delivery system or a related medical/administrative environment. Experience in a clinical setting is essential. Familiarity with electronic health record systems is preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with mobile technology is advantageous. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is preferred. Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions effectively. Responsibilities Include: Conducting hearing assessments and managing patient records. Coordinating hearing conservation activities with relevant personnel.
