About the Role

Handshake is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance and Controlling Working Student to join our team in EMEA. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the growth and development of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain insights into the accounting functions of our EMEA region and be responsible for various tasks in these areas.
  • Be actively involved in the day-to-day business operations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of our financial processes.
  • Contribute to and assist in the preparation of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes accounting, forecasts, and budget processes.
  • Help optimize financial processes by identifying opportunities for process automation and digitalization, contributing to the expansion of our finance, controlling, and accounting infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Fluent in German and English
  • Enrolled student of business administration with a focus on accounting, finance, controlling, or comparable course of study
  • Previous work experience, such as internships or working as a student, in Accounting, Finance, or related fields would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of accounting concepts, principles, and standards, and interest in the field of controlling
  • Confident handling of MS Office (especially Microsoft Excel), VBA, as well as an affinity for numbers and familiarization with various controlling systems
  • Fluent proficiency in both German and English, accompanied by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Independent and reliable way of working
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
