Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team at LeanIX. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and secure backend services in Kotlin/Java.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement state-of-the-art search-related data structures and algorithms
  • Design and implement state-of-the-art GraphQL APIs
  • Take ownership and drive topics that you are passionate about and that contribute to our product vision
  • Collaborate with Product Management and UI/UX teams as part of a customer-focused team
  • Be guided by engineering values and live by them
  • Share knowledge and make people around you grow through active mentorship, pair programming, code reviews, or knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Be in the driver's seat and take proactive ownership of your work
  • Frequently get out of your comfort zone and adapt to our fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Do it right the first time and prioritize quality iterative development

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency with Kotlin (or Java with a willingness to learn Kotlin as part of the onboarding)
  • Experience with modern tools and practices for building Kotlin/Java backend services
  • Open communication style, strong spoken and written communication skills in English
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site in our Bonn office at least 20% of your time
