Job Summary
JD Ross Energy is seeking a highly skilled Grid Capacity Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Grid team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing grid capacity for our large-scale solar and BESS projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify grid capacity suitable for PV and BESS projects
- Originate, submit, and manage the process of connection applications
- Gather intelligence and analyze existing and future electricity network data to provide input into the location and electrical characteristics of new solar developments
- Engage with grid operators on pre-app meetings and budget for the availability of connections for upcoming developments
- Work closely with external grid consultants to support other aspects of the grid connection process
- Complete relevant applications for developments connected to the distribution network
- Generate SLDs using Auto Cad
- Support the land acquisition team in identifying areas of potential capacity
- Manage project pipeline by communicating with grid operators to track progress with development
- Take ownership of assigned projects, including managing deadlines, multiple project objectives, project timelines, and success criteria
Requirements
- At least 3-4 years of experience in a technical role working on electricity projects, including submission of grid connection applications at distribution or transmission level
- Electrical engineering background preferred, with experience in a technical environment
- Working knowledge of the Grid Code is essential
- Ideal experience in Solar or BESS projects
- Maintaining working relationships with Grid operators
