Tasks We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with a strong background in NestJS and hexagonal (ports & adapters) architecture. The candidate will design and implement core modules of our SaaS products, ensuring clean separation of concerns, testability, and maintainability. Requirements 3+ years professional experience with NestJS in production systems Proven track record applying modular architecture (DDD, hexagonal, ports and adapters, onion architecture, …) Strong knowledge of TypeScript and API development with OpenAPI/Swagger Experience with PostgreSQL databases and query optimization Hands-on experience with Kafka for event streaming / messaging Containerization and DevOps skills with Docker and/or Kubernetes Solid understanding of automated testing and CI/CD workflows Daily development experience and interest in using AI-assisted development environments like Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, … Security awareness (GDPR-compliant data handling, OAuth2 a plus) Nice to Have Experience with React frontend development, ideally with Shadcn UI components Experience with AI/LLM backends or integrations Background in GovTech / public sector IT Benefits Work on impact-driven products that transform public administration A highly skilled, mission-driven team with flat hierarchies Modern tech stack and engineering culture focused on clean architecture and quality Competitive compensation package €2,000 development budget per year at your disposal 30 days of vacation Subsidy for the Deutschlandticket or fuel voucher You have the opportunity to be part of a fast-growing startup and actively shape its future Permanent employment contract, flexible working hours, hybrid working, and workations in other EU countries New office in Munich with fully equipped kitchen, cozy lounge area, and a 50-meter outdoor pool Latest technical equipment (e.g., MacBook) Regular team events and off-sites Mindfulness @ Ayunis: 2 sessions per month, alternating between yoga and breathing exercises
