**AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**:
**THE MISSION**:
You are interested in technical and legal issues, love structured work, but would like to work in a flexible and relaxed start-up atmosphere? Then you've come to the right place We are looking for an R&D specialist (M/F) with immediate effect to support us in the chemical post-treatment of the 3D-printed components of our 3D printing start-up. In addition to designing and implementing research projects, you will also actively participate in process optimizations and the development of new solutions. As a newcomer, you will have the chance to take on responsibility right from the start and learn a lot for your professional future. Not only that - you'll also have the opportunity to work internationally with our Austin, Texas location. We also offer a flexible workplace where you can work from home sometimes depending on the current project, and while you are working in the office you can have fun playing Mario Cart and table tennis.

**YOUR TASKS**:

- You are responsible for the independent conception and implementation of research projects in the field of post-treatment of 3D-printed components (other processes, improved properties, other plastics)
- In addition, you will develop new, innovative approaches to solutions, supported by patent and literature research
- Furthermore, you are responsible for independent design of experiments (DoE), execution of experiments, analysis and evaluation (e.g. statistical evaluation of experiments with R, SPSS, JMP)
- You will optimize process control and regulation of industrial post-processing equipment in cooperation with product development
- Furthermore, you will evaluate the solution in terms of scalability, costs, chemical availability, REACH requirements and indirect product safety
- Last but not least, you provide cross-departmental support for questions regarding materials, especially plastics/polymers

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- You have a degree with a focus on polymer chemistry, polymer physics, plastics technology, materials science or similar
- You also have in-depth knowledge in the field of plastics and polymers
- Initial professional experience with practical laboratory work, as well as independent test planning and execution are an advantage
- Your strengths include a careful approach to work and a high sense of responsibility when handling chemicals in the laboratory
- In addition, you have a high level of comprehension as well as technical understanding and interest in new technologies
- MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is familiar to you
- It is desirable if you already have knowledge in static test planning and evaluation, as well as knowledge according to -2 Abs. 16 GefStoffV.
- You are fluent in written and spoken German and English
