At the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry, the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry I offers a

project position as

Research Associate (M/F/x)

starting August 1, 2023. The position comprises 65 % of the fulltime weekly hours and is limited until

September 30, 2025. The period of employment is governed by - 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts

Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz-WissZeitVG).

**Tasks**: The primary task is the synthesis and characterization of porous solids such as model porous

carbons, silica and Metal-Organic Frameworks. The further task is the development of the

instrumentation for in situ Radiography and Tomography in parallel to the adsorption of gases and

instrumentation manuals, measurement and analysis of the data belong to the task of the research

associate.

**Requirements**: university degree in chemistry or experimental physics (Master or equivalent); good

knowledge in the characterization of porous solids (PXRD, nitrogen physisorption, SEM, IR, NMR, etc)

basic knowledge in X-ray imaging and tomography; experience in the use of scientific-equipment; high

self-motivation; good command of written and spoken English; good PC skills; capacity for teamwork

and organizational talent; willingness to business trips. The knowledge of Python programming

language and CAD-3D software is advantageous.
