**Your Role**:
You will lead the scientific and technical (R&D and CMC) due diligence process for potential partners, acquisitions, or licensing deals and you will:

- Lead the R&D/Technical Due Diligence (DD) team of cross-functional experts to provide a solid, holistic assessment for decision making
- Drive the scientific and technical assessment process all along ensuring clarity in key focus areas for deep diligence
- Work closely with R&D executives and External Innovation management to ensure alignment in areas of focus and integrated assessment.
- Partner strongly with Business Development leader to ensure connectivity of scientific and technical DD with business assessments.
- The DD team deliverables include a high-quality DD report with overall opportunity and risk assessment, mitigation options, development plans with appropriate scenarios, appropriate R&D assumptions, and related management presentations
- You may be part or lead Search & Evaluation from the outset depending on management decision
- You will collaborate with Program Teams and Alliance Management post deal signature to support integration/transition, especially with respect to critical issues identified during DD.

**Who you are**:

- PhD, PharmD, MD, or comparable degree in life sciences required
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in pharma drug development in global drug development, including track record of leading multidisciplinary global project teams in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical development process, with credible hands-on R&D experience and demonstrated expertise in multiple areas of drug development and/or broad working knowledge spanning research, pre-clinical development, process development, manufacturing, clinical, and regulatory processes.
- Strong knowledge in the relevant therapeutic area, i.e. N&I, ONC, CM&E
- Experience in conducting and leading Due Diligences and related activities with demonstrated experience of honing in on key questions and guiding diligence teams.
- Strong partner with the BD lead and ensures connectivity of S&T diligence with business diligence to drive business case evaluation.
- Business acumen; MBA or experience in business development, venture capital, biotech, consulting etc. is a plus
- Proven track record for delivering fast paced projects
- Excellent matrix leadership ability. Ability to interact with senior R&D executives to gain alignment as well as external experts to drive insights rapidly.
- Ability to work under stress/fast paced timelines/uncertainty
- Ability to represent the company and to interact at all levels both internally and externally across key geographies in which we operate
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in the face of uncertainty, or with incomplete or ambiguous data
