**Academic staff member**:
- part-time (75 %)
**Your tasks**:
- design and implementation of courses on your own initiative (under supervision if necessary) to the extent of an average of 3 SWS per semester
- participation in university self-administration and support for the work of the Chair of Modern Church History
- organization of the chair's society (4 times a year) together with the chair holder
- Active and independent participation in academic events (workshops, symposia, conferences)
- Our department is committed to qualified teaching that is didactically and content-wise tailored to the needs and wishes of the students. This also includes cooperation with other faculties in Mainz or in the region (Landau, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, etc.).
**Your profile**:
- In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in - 57 of the _Hochschulgesetz_ of Rhineland-Palatinate.
- You have a successfully completed good to very good scientific university degree in Protestant Theology (Master, Magister, “Staatsexamen” or equivalent) and - in the case of a habilitation project - a good or very good doctorate (s.c.l., m.c.l.) in Protestant Theology.
- You would like to do your thesis (PhD) or habilitation in the field of church history with a focus on early modern or modern times.
- You are interested in current research discussions and have methodological knowledge for your qualification project in early modern church history or contemporary church history
- If possible, you should bring your own idea for a research project or a project already in progress in the professorship's focus area.
- You have a very good knowledge of German and English.

The position is paid according to **EG 13 TV-L** and to be filled 01.04.2025. The position is for a fixed term until 30.03.2027.
The position serves the purpose of academic quali-fication (doctorate/habilitation). Qualification in the research fields of the chair (Reformation history, Pietism research, contemporary church history) is welcome, but not a prerequisite.
