Head of ERP Engineering

As the Head of ERP Engineering in Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EA&A), you will lead a group of cross-functional engineers, hire senior talent, collaborate with tech consulting to define roadmaps, provide technical leadership and coaching for engineers across the entirety of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) landscape.

Zalando's ERP is a composable architecture of systems with SAP as the core, with APIs, Micro Services, and several point solutions making up the remainder of the landscape. This serves as the system of record for Zalando's financial reporting, as well as, foundational capabilities for processes across the Zalando transactional flow. As Head of ERP Engineering you will work in this dynamic environment with a talented and diverse workforce, delivering on the roadmaps supporting Zalando's group portfolio and the EA&A local portfolio of projects, aligned with our future looking ERP architecture strategy.

- Lead, manage, inspire and grow multiple teams. As a leader of leads and principal engineers, it will be your responsibility to coach your directs to become the best they can be. You will provide direction, guidance and amazing working conditions for cross-functional delivery that involve multiple engineering teams, serving a broad range of use cases. You will be accountable for the delivery of the long-term architectural roadmap and the reliable operation of the department's production software systems.
- Engage with stakeholders and other leaders across the company to deliver an outstanding product to satisfy the needs of our internal and external customers.
- Ensure that development of the ERP is simplified and scales to the future needs of Zalando. Follow the latest developments in technology & engineering, leveraging SAP at the core, and point solutions, APIs and micro services to create a scalable and cost efficient ERP that can handle the rapid change and constant innovation of the Zalando group.
- Help us shape the engineering culture across Zalando by developing and hiring engineering talent and facilitating engineering processes that create remarkable impact for our customers and partners at scale.

**WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF**:

- You are an empathetic and egoless leader who excels at developing, coaching, and mentoring engineering leaders and engineers.
- You have 7+ years of professional experience in an international, cross-functional environment, as well as a proven track record building and scaling engineering teams within a mid or large scale organization (20+).
- You have good understanding of technical landscapes, a solid technical background as well as multiple years of hands-on coding in technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and experience with SAP ABAP and Fiori or other package ERP solutions.
- You have Experience working with ERP systems in AWS cloud infrastructure.
- You're excited by the idea of helping teams do the best and most effective work of their careers.
- You posses understanding of software delivery KPIs (release velocity, lead time, etc.) and how to influence them to create a high performing technology organization.
- You have the ability to share technical ideas and direction across the organization and a proven ability to influence decision making at all levels and in a variety of contexts.
- You have experience working with different functions, experts, and levels of leadership.
