About the Company:

They're a tech-driven company seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead and scale its Berlin-based engineering team. This fast-growing organization is at the forefront of innovation, developing cutting-edge solutions to disrupt the gambling and iGaming industry globally with AI-driven experiences.


Role Overview:

As the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for setting the technical direction of the company, scaling the engineering team, and driving product innovation. You will collaborate closely with the US-based leadership team and act as a technical sparring partner to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to deliver scalable and resilient solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and architectural standards
  • Partner with Engineering Managers and drive the engineering towards a common goal across various teams.
  • Establish transformation of platform infrastructure by applying best practices as infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
  • Working with Ops team and Dev teams to ensure a 360 incident response procedures and make sure full participation in on-call rotations to ensure rapid resolution of platform-related incidents.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure that meets regulatory requirements and security standards.
  • Monitor the process execution and suggest improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of release process
  • Establish and enforce operational best practices for managing and maintaining platform/infrastructure.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head of Engineering, VP of Engineering, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong background in software engineering, ideally with expertise in AI, machine learning and data-driven verticals.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and scaling engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions while being hands-on when needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Any experience with AI, game analytics or in the gaming industry is appreciated.
