Senior Associate, Private Client Us Individual Tax

**JOB SUMMARY**:
Senior Associate, Private Client US Individual Tax Services will be responsible for the delivery of a full range of Expatriate and International tax services. The individual will ensure efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation and delivery of all clients’ tax returns, as well as interact closely with clients to provide tax consulting and compliance expertise.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepares US tax returns and documentation (1040, 1040NR, and 709) for individual clients.
- Reviews financial records, such as prior tax return forms, German documents, and German tax returns forms needed to prepare US tax returns.
- Prepare quarterly federal and state estimated tax payment calculations, extensions, and related filings.
- Estimated tax payments for federal and state income tax purposes.
- Knowledge of complex forms such as 5471, 8865, and 3520 is a definite asset.
- Maintain continuous interaction with clients, manage expectations and ensure exceptional client service.
- Self-review of deliverables, including tax returns; escalating any issues or tax questions to Managers, Senior Managers and Directors as appropriate.
- Drafting follow up communications with clients for information.
- Ensuring completion of task within the assigned time frame.
- Preparation of correspondence to deal directly with tax authorities with respect to tax related inquiries and audits.
- Actively participates in the development of the associates and preparers acting as a resource; providing guidance and direction as necessary.
- Preparing complex tax returns and reviewing federal and state tax returns for individuals. May be responsible for the final review of tax returns prepared by junior staff.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- German-speaking ability is required - communicating with clients and Steuerberaters.
- German tax understanding is more important than US tax experience (but flexible based on other factors).
- Experience as Steuerfachangestellt would be a great advantage.
- Superior analytical, technical and tax accounting skills.
- Proficiency in use of computer tax preparation, tax research and tax planning software programs, and Microsoft Office products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research, decision-making skills and critical thinking skills.
- Capacity to work well in a team environment with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Capable of effectively developing and maintaining client relationships.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Requires office attendance (a hybrid working arrangement may be possible).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: 50,000.00€ per year
