Working as a core member of our Germany team, you will undertake vessel surveys and inspections. This could include MWS services as well as general marine assurance inspections such as pre-purchase P&I intake, or H&M surveys. You will also perform basic project management activities such as inspection coordination, project setup and client invoicing.
**What you will be doing.**:
- Take part in technical and procedural reviews and marine study reports covering marine and offshore projects as well as site attendance.
- Attend suitability surveys, marine assurance inspections, H&M surveys, and other vessel inspections as required.
- Evaluate operational risks and assess the feasibility of Marine operations by technical review of onsite specifications.
- Assist and / or lead marine assurance projects (as assigned by the manager) to accomplish the overall delivery of optimum solutions to customers within defined timeframe, costs, and quality standards.
- Responsible for delivery of quality documents within a timeline established by management and client.
- Coordinate marine inspection activities such as organizing surveys, inspection report QA, and freelancer timesheet approval.
- Liaise with clients to ensure project completion and customer satisfaction.
We accommodate hybrid working and the job holder will be expected to attend our Hamburg office two days a week. Flexibility and availability to travel will also be required for surveys.
**What we are looking for.**:
Ideally, you will hold either an STCW II/2 or STCW III/2 ticket and have proven experience at sea. You might also be a Master Mariner, Chief Mate, or Engineer looking to move into a shore-based position, or a Surveyor looking for career progression. More specifically, we are looking for the following:
- At least 3 years relevant experience within the Marine or Offshore Industry.
- General Cargo Handling / Breakbulk experience.
- Proven understanding of ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL & HSE standards.
- Exposure to marine consultancy including warranty, vessel and asset inspections, audits, surveys, damage surveys and project management is beneficial.
