**THE ROLE**
One of VPS’ core activities is conducting quantitative inspections of marine fuels on board ships by means of the Bunker Quantity Survey (BQS). These activities are carried out by employees of the BQS department, led by the BQS Manager who is located in the Netherlands.
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**
As a bunker surveyor you will primarily perform the following activities:
- Performing and reporting bunker quantity measurements of fuel for ships.
- Taking samples for both BQS and FQT (Fuel Quality Testing) for fuel quality testing by the laboratory.
- You follow the entire process in accordance with the requirements in the VPS Code of Practice.
- You report to the Manager BQS
- You are based in Hamburg, but on request also in Dutch harbours like Rotterdam.
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- Experience in the position of bunker surveyor is a clear advantage
- Recent experience within the maritime and/or transport sector
- Experience with quality inspections is a must
- Good mathematic skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good command of the English language, spoken and written
- You can communicate well and are patient
- Due to the nature of the job, we expect you to find working outside office hours and weekends no problem. You are flexible, honest, stable, dedicated and you have a steadfast personality.
