**Principal Data Scientist (m/w/d)**

Für unser globales Team suchen wir einen Principal Data Scientist (m/w/d) zur Verstärkung der Organisation Digital Transformation & IT - Pharma.

Die Abteilung Decision Science bei Bayer Pharmaceuticals arbeitet an AI-Projekten über alle Funktionen hinweg, von Medical Affairs über Pharmakovigilanz bis hin zu Forschung und Entwicklungg. Wir lösen komplexe analytische Probleme und entwickeln Lösungen mit dem Ziel, die Entscheidungsfindung im Unternehmen zu verbessern und effizienter zu gestalten. Das Team ist auf die Anwendung von Natural Language Processing und Patientendaten (Real world data) fokussiert und spezialisiert, schließt aber andere Data Science Bereiche auch mit ein. **IHRE AUFGABEN UND VERANTWORTLICHKEITEN**
- Sie leiten Natural Language Processing (NLP) Initiativen und fungieren als technischer Ansprechpartner für das Team und die Organisation
- Sie leiten die Ideenfindung und Entwicklung innovativer AI- und Data Science Anwendungen als Teil digitaler Produkte, die Businessprobleme in den Bereichen Medical Affairs, Pharmakovigilanz und Forschung & Entwicklung lösen. Dabei pflegen Sie gute Beziehungen zu den Stakeholdern im Unternehmen, verstehen ihre Anforderungen und Pain Points und helfen bei der Gestaltung und Umsetzung von Strategien im Rahmen der digitalen Agenda
- Sie entwickeln und implementieren komplexe NLP-Algorithmen, um Erkenntnisse aus großen Mengen an nicht-gelabelten Textdaten (klinische Notizen, behördliche Dokumente, medizinische Literatur) zu generieren. Dabei übernehmen Sie die Verantwortung für End-to-End-Produkte vom Notebook bis zum produktionsbereiten Code
- Forschung und Entwicklung von Survival Modellen unter Verwendung von Daten aus klinischen Studien, elektronischen Patientenakten und anderen ‘Real World Data’ Datenquellen, um Gesundheitsrisiken zu verstehen und innovative Kommunikations
- und Clinical Decision Support Produkte in der klinischen Praxis voranzutreiben
- In Ihrer täglichen Arbeit fördern Sie mithilfe agiler Methoden die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, einer großen IT-Organisation und Business Domain Experten in multidisziplinären Produktteams
- Sie agieren als Mentor und helfen Kollegen aus dem Data Science Team bei ihrer technischen Entwicklung. Außerdem überzeugen und inspirieren Sie andere Teams mit Ihrer AI-Expertise und bleiben auf dem Laufenden über state-of-the-art AI-Anwendungen in der Life-Science-Industrie und Forschung
- Sie veröffentlichen innovative Methoden und wissenschaftliche Entdeckungen in peer-reviewed Fachzeitschriften
- Sie erkunden Möglichkeiten für die Zusammenarbeit mit Hochschulen, Start-ups und etablierten externen Anbietern

**WAS SIE MITBRINGEN**
- Promotion in Machine Learning, Statistik, angewandter Mathematik, Informatik oder verwandten Bereichen mit ausgeprägten Kenntnissen in Machine Learning
- Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung (vorzugsweise Pharma) oder exzellente akademische Leistungen, die die Durchführung bahnbrechender Projekte in ML demonstrieren
- Kenntnisse auf Expertenniveau in Machine Learning, mit einem starken Fokus auf NLP, insbesondere im Umgang mit Large Language Models und deren Finetuning, und/oder Gesundheitsrisikomodellen
- Sehr gute Programmierkenntnisse in Python, umfangreiche Erfahrung in Entwicklung, Deployment und Maintenance von ETL- und ML-Pipelines unter Verwendung von Cloud-Diensten (AWS, Azure usw.)
- Es fällt Ihnen leicht, komplizierte Konzepte in einfachen Worten zu erklären und können dabei den Komplexitätsgrad an die Zielgruppe anpassen. Sie sind ein Experte darin, Lösungen ans Business zu präsentieren
- Sie nutzen leidenschaftlich gerne statistische und mathematische Mittel, um die Welt zu einem besseren und effizienteren Ort zu machen. Sie möchten Teil eines motivierten Teams von Data Scientists werden, die an verschiedensten Themen von der automatisierten Generierung von Erkenntnissen aus regulatorischen Dokumenten bis hin zu Risikomodellen für Onkologie Patienten arbeiten
