We are looking for a Principal Data Scientist (all genders) to join our Operation tribe in the Quick Commerce vertical.
Quick Commerce comprises varied teams of deep technical and data expertise for developing the next generation of E-Commerce quick-delivery services. As a part of the Operations tribe, we’re developing global solutions across store management, order fulfillment, supply chain, and demand planning in order to optimize operational processes. We’re reinventing online shopping and building a scalable product ecosystem to enable cost and time-effective operational processes.
**Your mission**:
- Deep dive into our data to generate insights looking for opportunities, automations and data science models that can be applied for improving our business.
- Lead the discovery of new innovative data products from conception to operationalization to help optimize our systems and improve the experience for our users.
- Keep yourself up to date and suggest state-of-the-art models to find out what works best for our customers.
- Guide the team and foster algorithms’ scalability to provide business value in dozens of countries globally supporting multiple brands and millions of customers.
- Drive collaboration and knowledge sharing by pushing cross teams’ projects.
- Work with structured and unstructured data from different data sources (BigQuery, PostgreSQL etc and many more).
- Contribute and make an impact in a global, fast-moving tech organization.
- Being the main reference point for new research and tech quality of Data Science in Qcommerce Operations tribe.
**Your Heroic skills**:
- You have 8+ years experience in building Machine Learning models in the real world and have solved problems related to offline and online evaluation and monitoring such systems.
- You have experience in any of the following areas: demand planning and forecasting, supply chain optimisation, warehouse optimization, out of stock predictions, item matching or shift planning/forecasting
- You can write maintainable code that follows best practices in software engineering.
- You have the ability to understand a business problem and translate, structure it into a data science problem.
- Fluency in Python and familiarity with its scientific stack such as numpy, pandas, scikit learn, matplotlib.
- You know how to write a SQL query to pull the data you need.
- You have experience mentoring other team members.
- Experience building architecture proposals and presenting them to stakeholders
- Fluency in English.
**Nice to have**:
- You know how to make your code run in a container and are enthusiastic about running it in modern infrastructure environments like Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of GCP.
- Proven records of knowledge sharing activities like presenting in conferences or publications.
- Experience with frameworks like fast-api, Spark or tensor flow
