**Descripción de la oferta**:
An advance researcher on the field of Spent Nuclear Fuel (SNF) waste management is required. The researcher will be part of the WEEI (Waste, Energy and Environmental Impact) technological unit of the Eurecat - Technological Centre of Catalonia, **but will do its main job at the JRC Karlsruhe (Germany).**
A researcher with degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or similar is required for the WEEI unit to carry out research projects in SNF waste management. The work will be carried out at the **Joint Research Center (JRC) facilities which the European Comission held in Karlsruhe (Germany).**
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES:
- Execution of R&D projects related to safety and management of SNF
- Work in a hot lab with strict safety measures.
- Kinetic and thermodynamic release studies of relevant radionuclides
- Development of speciation and semi-empirical release models
- Preparation of national and international R+D+I proposals.
- Writing of papers and technical reports
**Requisitos**:
**EDUCATION**:
Chemical Engineering, degree in Chemistry or similar with a possession of an experimental master's degree or doctorate
**EXPERIENCE WHICH WILL BE POSITIVELY VALUED**:
Demonstrable experience in R&D projects or activities related to SNF management
Knowledge on radionuclide chemistry
Knowledge on UOx nuclear fuels
Leaching set-ups
Characterisation and analytical tools: ICP-MS, Raman, XPS, SEM
Modelling tools: PHREEQC
Drafting of memories and technical reports
