- Do you have an analytical mind and have extensive experience in interpreting financial regulations and analyzing regulatory developments? - We are looking for a Head of Compliance UBS Europe SE.
- In this cross-divisional role, you will be working with professionals across UBS's Investment Bank, Global Wealth Management and Asset Management divisions and different internal functions within UBS. You will lead a sizeable team of Compliance professionals to carry out the following key responsibilities:
- serving as the primary point of contact for Compliance matters within the legal entity to UBS's legal entity management and managing relationships across Group Compliance functions in the region and globally
- establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant internal stakeholders as well as with relevant regulators, in particular ECB and BaFin
- reviewing, analyzing and advising on banking and securities regulations affecting our operations in Europe and collaborating closely with professionals across the different business divisions and functions to ensure that the Bank meets all the relevant requirements
- supervising Compliance outsourcing initiatives originated in European locations and providing specialist advice on related EU / national requirements
- addressing a wide range of time-sensitive regulatory inquiries initiated by the relevant regulators, including critically evaluating the empowering regulations, data and materials provided by front to back office staff
- implementing and maintaining an appropriate governance and supervision structure for the legal entity Compliance team
- reviewing and challenging the integrity and effectiveness of the first line of defense supervision and risk management
- having the right level of understanding about Compliance systems, processes and controls in place to manage Compliance's risks for the legal entity
- actively engaging in Compliance business planning; managing their financial resources responsibly and within their operating plans and forecast, where applicable; and
- managing resource requirements, talent development and succession planning for the Compliance team

**Your expertise**
- have 10+ years of relevant experience in the financial industry with substantial experience in advising on and interpreting legal and regulatory issues arising in global financial institutions
- have 5+ years of experience in leading sizable teams
- are analytical and can readily tackle multi-faceted issues by making risk-based judgments based on solid interpretation of regulations to seek practical solutions
- have excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and strong organizational and analytical skills; and
- are able to build and sustain strong relationships with regulators, auditors, senior management, business staff and colleagues within the team, both locally and regionally
- fluent in German
