As a Senior Legal Counsel - Data Privacy (M/F/d), you will be our go-to authority and trusted advisor for all data privacy and GDPR related topics. As our internal specialist in the field of data privacy, you are responsible for implementing regulatory requirements and drive exciting projects that will shape and improve internal processes. Besides, you will support in commercial law, especially IT law. You will work closely with several departments, for example Sales, Procurement, Compliance and IT.
Tasks
**our areas of responsibility include**:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, guidelines and processes with regard to data protection requirements in German and English with our customers and various service providers
- Responsibility for coordinating privacy projects and executing complex tasks within major projects as assigned. Engage with and support projects with external suppliers.
- Preparing data privacy policies, declarations of consent and other data protection-related documents.
- Monitoring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant data protection laws. Keep track of all relevant provisions of our standard contracts and develop them as required
- Supporting Ratepay on matters such as conducting legal analysis and advising on the drafting and negotiation of contracts, particularly in the IT area
- Managing external data protection officers and cooperation with authorities
**Requirements**:

- You’re a fully qualified lawyer in Germany, with outstanding academic and legal qualifications
- You have 4+ years of professional experience, ideally at least 2 years in an Inhouse position
- You have strong knowledge of data protection law and good understanding of commercial law. Experience in the financial or payment sector is a plus
- Very good negotiation and communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken
- You are driven, able to work independently and take ownership. Strong business acumen skills and ability to build the bridge between legal and business needs round up your profile
- You value diversity and prioritize ideas over hierarchies. You are not afraid to learn new things quickly
