Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

**What you will be doing**

With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to:

- serve as the primary contact for technical design queries, overseeing structural concept evaluations, design approvals, documentation, drawing release and IP management in a distributed environment
- ensure mechanical designs are optimized for manufacturing and service,
- demonstrate leadership and technical excellence, fostering team members' growth and personal development,
- coordinate resource planning in an agile setup, aligning with all relevant stakeholders,
- establish conditions for team development through guidance materials, standards, and funding acquisition,
- implement and mentor the team on high-quality standards for safe prototype and product delivery,
- make goal-oriented, bold decisions in an agile environment,
- proactively identify and address risks in development and personnel planning,
- negotiate solutions for join Rolls-Royce Electrical and resolve conflicts sustainably.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

- have completed university studies in a technical discipline, preferably in mechanical or aerospace engineering,
- possess several years of hands-on experience in prototype and product development, along with strong leadership, and team and project management skills,
- hold substantial technical knowledge in structural concepts & methods, mechanical design, and the verification of rotating machinery, particularly in aircraft propulsion, or similar,
- bring a strong background in the qualification and certification knowledge of propulsion systems, including experience with handling of aviation authority approvals,
- ideally, have experience in designing electrical machines and understand the interplay between electromagnetics, thermal design, and mechanics, etc.
- demonstrate the highest commitment to finding sustainable solutions, work systematically, drive implementations, and show resilience,
- be enthusiastic about developing innovative products and exploring new paths in aircraft propulsion with Rolls-Royce Electrical, as novel aviation technology
- be proficient in English, with fluent German considered an asset.
