Job Description Summary:
The Associate Director, Marketing is a vital position working with corporate leadership and cross-functional teams to advance care in the rare disease community and drive the Company's commercial success. The Associate Director, Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of global and regional marketing strategies and tactics for the assigned product portfolio in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), AADC-deficiency and any pipeline products and indications.

Reporting into the head of Germany and collaborating closely with the regional cross functional team the Associate Director, Marketing will ensure messaging and branding consistency and alignment with corporate and local goals and objectives.

The incumbent works cross-functionally with internal departments and external resources on Marketing related issues.

The Associate Director, Marketing ensures adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.

He/she may manage direct reports.

**Job Description**:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- duties/responsibilities:_
- Driving the development and execution of the strategic and tactical plan for the product portfolio.
- Developing the local communication platform for Germany including key elements of positioning, messaging, value proposition, creative campaign, and associated promotional pieces.
- The role also supports Austria and Switzerland as appropriate.
- Creating and implementing educational initiatives.
- In collaboration with Finance, Business Insights and Analytics, planning and executing HCP and patient market research and advisory board meetings to gain actionable market and customer insights.
- Work cross functionally to identify and partner with local stakeholders including KOLs and patient advocacy groups.
- Understand the challenges and growth opportunities in the rare disease community and translating these into marketing initiatives.
- Planning and executing local congress activities, educational events and internal trainings.
- Managing external agencies to ensure execution of marketing programs aligned with brand strategy objectives.
- Ensuring timely and efficient review of promotional materials and complying fully with all legal, regulatory, medical, and company guidelines.
- Working with stakeholder partners in Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, Sales, Business Insights and Analytics and Finance to optimize commercial success for the near term.
- At all times, ensures compliance with all corporate polices, regulations, laws, ethical and company guidelines.
- Manages/controls the operating budget(s) and initiates corrective measures as appropriate within the agreed schedule on deliverables.
- Performs other tasks and assignments as well as ad hoc requests needed and specified by management.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Demonstrated track record of success supporting the marketing and commercialization of an orphan, rare disease and/or specialized drug(s) that requires the development and execution of unique sales and marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing long-term and annual marketing plans.
- Hands-on experience in collaborating and working with patient organizations.
- Ability to anticipate issues and respond quickly, flexibly and creatively to solve problems and address commercial market challenges.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written) and German.
- Travel requirements: 30%
- Office based position

- Advanced degree (PhD, Master's, MBA).
- Direct experience working with, or closely supporting, managed markets, sales training and/or sales operations.
- Experience working in a small but fast growing, entrepreneurial environment.
