**Assignment**:
Space Applications Services is a company based in the Brussels area (BE) that provides products and services for the space sector in many areas from Avionics, Robotics, Human Exploration, Science and Earth Observation.

The position is assigned to our customer’s premises at the **European Space Operations Centre (ESA/ESOC)**.

The position is in the **Services Department** as part of the Training Team (comprised of 10 experienced Engineers and Scientists).

**Start Date**:15th February 2023

**Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Identify the facilities and configurations needed to carry out the simulations programme (e.g. simulator, ground segment elements, tools )
- Support:

- The operational testing of the training/operations facilities, in particular the review of the simulator, including Simulator incident/problem management (might involve the identification & implementation of corrections and/or workarounds on the simulator to support campaign-specific scenarios in a realistic manner)
- The operational validation process by defining and managing the simulation campaign, including the development of mission-specific scenarios and failure cases
- Prepare, conduct and post-processing of actual simulation sessions
- Set up training sessions on request from the operations team leaders covering mission-specific aspects and/or generic operations skills (e.g on-console training, voice loop procedures training)
- Assist the Flight Operations Director in assessing the training status of the Mission Control Team
- Provide reporting and lessons learned from the Simulation Campaign.

**Skills and Experience**:

- A Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems Engineering or equivalent
- Good spacecraft knowledge on a subsystem level (EUCLID or Sentinel)
- Familiarity with the operational environment
- Demonstrated experience with programming skills in JavaScript, C, C++
- Ability to understand and accurately predict the behaviour of complex systems
- Interest in operational training
- Strength to cope with schedules and deadlines
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken English.
