Legal Director (f/m/d)

ESG Compliance & Human Rights Officer

Full-time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice and implementation support on all ESG compliance related matters for Evotec SE and the affiliated group companies globally, e.g. the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), EU Taxonomy Regulations and the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act
- Provide legal advice and support any kind of compliance activities and interdisciplinary projects, also outside the usual legal scope of duties
- Support on internal investigations in the field of ESG
- As Evotec’s appointed Human Rights Officer monitor and support implementation of the requirements of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act inter alia through organizational structures, policies, procedures and measures:

- Monitor the risk management, i.e. the measures to be taken in the context of the duty of care according to the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) including its documentation
- Prepare and update of the policy statement to be issued by Evotec
- Control, assess and report to the management on an annual or ad hoc basis, including the results of the risk analysis
- Embed the risk management in all relevant business processes such as purchasing, product development
- Initiate and control appropriate preventive and remedial measures, including the monitoring of the procurement and purchasing strategies
- Design and conduct of internal trainings for employees
- Review of the complaint procedure on an annual or ad hoc basis
- Prepare the annual accountability report to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA)
- Serve internally as the first point of contact for all LkSG related matters

Required qualifications:

- Fully qualified lawyer with cross-functional understanding of Human Rights, Environmental-, Compliance
- and Stakeholder Management
- Several years of professional experience
- Additional qualification as certified Human Rights Officer, Coach or Mediator is a plus
- Excellent and open communication style to interact effectively across functional, geographic and cultural boundaries within the company and externally
- Self-starter, who is resourceful and able to work effectively both independently as well as with teams at various levels of hierarchy
- Can handle complexity of the work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical, conceptual as well as interdisciplinary networked thinking and acting
- Fluency in written and spoken English and German

Your ideal qualifications:

- Experienced ideally in the area of corporate social responsibility, sustainability and (social) Compliance
- Additional qualifications as certified Human Rights Officer, Coach or Mediator is a plus
