Braunschweig, Deutschland University of Sheffield Vollzeit

The University of Sheffield delivers life-enhancing research, innovation and education - come and join one of the teams that makes that possible. In IT Services, we’re dedicated to providing excellent IT systems, services and infrastructure to meet the needs of our students and colleagues. Our world is dynamic and so are we. We work closely with everyone who uses IT at the University, to make sure it works for them, so they can focus on improving themselves and the world around us. So if you want to support the next generations of students, leaders and researchers, we want you on our team.

The University has set out an exciting new technology-enabled strategy that will impact all aspects of the delivery of our services and the experience of the student. It has an architecture function that is a critical enabler for its success. ITS Architecture has Business, Data, Technical & Solution Architects working side-by-side with delivery teams to ensure both the short-term and long-term decisions align with the strategic goals of IT Services and the wider University.

We are strengthening our architecture team and are recruiting for a Technical Architect who will report directly to the Lead Technology Architect. You will lead on the development of solution and technical architectures required to meet the current and future IT needs of the business. In addition to traditional project style delivery, we are evolving to a product-led environment where Technical Architects will work alongside other architects with product leads to develop the roadmap and emerging architecture states that enable continuous delivery of value. Technical architects will be a key voice in the architecture team and across the wider technical community and will help shape our technology strategy and approach to delivering all aspects of our architecture service.

You will be able to use your knowledge and experience to drive change and will be able to communicate and champion our vision for technology and for the IT Services architecture service across the University.

We’re one of the best non-for-profit organisations to work in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms deliver greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
