For our Department of Reproductive Management we are seeking to appoint a

**Scientist (f/m/div) in full time**

**in the field of **biobanking and cell culture**.**

**Responsibilities include**:

- establishing the S2 cell culture laboratory;
- establishing an automated biobank for animal cell material including pluripotent adult stem cells;
- establishing a central cell registry;
- developing "_in vitro_ gametogenesis" protocols for the northern white rhino; carrying out knockout studies and gene modifications;
- performing genome editing using DNA, mRNA or protein-dependent CRISPR/Cas9;
- conducting independent scientific work and collaborating with other scientists and departments.

**Requirements**:

- practical experience in the production and handling of iPSC cell cultures (S2 laboratory);
- scientific knowledge and experience in the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells from adult fibroblasts or similar starting material;
- scientific knowledge and experience in handling and organizing live cell biobanks;
- scientific knowledge and several years of experience in conducting scientific experiments with cell cultures
- willingness to learn and develop skills for own improvement;
- strong organizational and team working abilities;
- excellent command of English (written + spoken) and profound skills in scientific writing;
- an interest and ability to work in an international team and with a diverse community of scientists and stakeholders;

The position will be filled preferably by **1**st** June 2024** and is **initially limited to** **3 years**.
