- What you will be doing
- Reporting to the VP, Global Quality & Regulatory Assurance (GQRA), the VP, Global Quality Assurance (GQA) International will be responsible for developing, strengthening, and executing the quality assurance program for assigned international business units. This role will support assigned business units by establishing minimum acceptable quality guidelines applicable to the enterprise and the identification of potential gaps and improvement opportunities within the existing framework.

The VP, GQA International will participate in the Global Quality Council, a cross-functional group whose overarching purpose is to provide strategic direction for development and oversight of an enterprise quality management system that is fit for purpose for ABC and its business units.
- PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:_
- Supports the development of strategic plans to support organizational goals and provide guidance to functional areas concerning quality system development that aligns with US and global GxP regulatory authorities.
- Collaborates with assigned BU leaders to prioritize the strategy for development, standardization, harmonization and continuous improvement of the global quality program.
- Partners with the VP, GQRA and VP, GQA - Distribution in developing, articulating and gaining alignment across the organization for the AmerisourceBergen quality strategy. Works with BU leaders to accomplish departmental objectives in execution of those strategies.
- Monitor the US and international GxP regulatory environments and communicate the impact of new and changing regulations regarding ABC business and advising the management team of any business implications of these changes to assigned BUs.
- Provide periodic updates on the state of quality and communicate significant GxP risks in a timely manner to VP, GQRA.
- Implement and sustain a corporate culture where assigned BUs are in a continued state of GxP regulatory inspection preparedness and serve as an escalation point for corporate quality issues.
- Strategic focus, with the ability to identify and prioritize the most critical and impactful issues and opportunities to drive long-term success.
- Participate in the preparation of an annual departmental budget to support BUs.
What your background should look like
SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:_
- Significant track record of pharmaceutical quality experience including leadership experience in GxP Quality Assurance or Quality System management positions in a wholesale distributor, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry.
- Master's degree in related discipline preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated success in leading a quality assurance organization and ability to operate within a highly matrixed environment.
- Understanding of quality processes, quality compliance, US and international GxP regulations, standards and current industry practices
- Exceptional team building skills and demonstrated ability to direct activities from concept through to completion.
- Must be a collaborative facilitator and leader, building consensus while championing global quality with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, performance management, employee development skills, and ability to identify and analyze complex problems and recommend actions.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Travel is required, given the global scope of the role, and would vary in intensity depending on the evolving business needs. Anticipated travel on a global basis to be around 30%.
