**Marketing and Economic Development Executive**:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated, and enthusiastic Business Development Executive in International Economic Development (or with previous experience in sales and business development) The role requires tenacity and drive to develop and build our clients presence in the UK market. The role will require working as part of a proactive multi-cultural team of representatives to develop and secure high-quality investment leads from new name prospects.
**JOB PURPOSE**:
The role will be to establish and operate as a business development consultant for our firm, focused on developing our client’s economic development market share in the UK market.
Reporting to the Director/SVP for Advise Global in North America, this role will involve working closely with all operating divisions to drive new business opportunities and to maximize investments of value and impact from the market into our client’s city/country.
Specifically, the role will involve the following;
- Represent our business and clients in public events and day to day contact with companies.
- Direct business development and marketing responsibility of a cross sectoral portfolio.
- Driving the implementation of annual strategy and investment targets in the following sectors: Information, Communication, and Technology; Healthcare and Life Sciences; Tourism; Financial Services; and Agricultural Technologies
- Directly sell our clients offering to targets. Understand and be effectively able to influence the customers decision on why to invest in our client’s city/country
**KEY TASKS**:
- To work with the SVP/CEO of North America for Advise Global on implementing our client’s strategy and plan for the UK market as part of an integrated territory;
- To work closely with the various sectoral Global Heads and Department Managers on a cross sectoral basis to contribute to sectoral strategy updates, with input on strategic imperatives for the sector from your market perspective.
- Where appropriate, undertake a public representative role on behalf of our client in your market and to ensure our agency has an extensive and influential network of corporate contacts in the region.
- To operate as an effective representative of the UK Advise Global sales team, communicating effectively and regularly on wider company activities and to ensure collaborative working relationships with the wider client country network.
- To develop, implement and manage promotional programs, including client executive visits.
- Identify 150 targets in your territory and track them on CRM. Aim to meet 20+ prospect clients monthly and record these efforts on CRM. Schedule follow up meetings and send the client follow up information as requested after each meeting.
- As part of your KPI you will be expected to attract and entice 20+ companies/investors to consider international expansion into that region of the world.
- To develop and assemble one client-branded promotional event alongside strategic stakeholders.
- Collaboratively work with other regional Directors to activate specified strategic partnerships for the client.
- To progress 10+ companies/investors leads to qualified leads by aiding in communication with stakeholders, business planning and negotiation discussions;
- To identify 2-3 strategic promotional events to attend annually, where potential decision makers in your perspective territory will be to support your project pipeline success;
- To ensure that clients and our corporate values of People, Professionalism, Passion for Performance and support for Public Service are always upheld;
**KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED**
- Leadership & Management, Client Focused Relationship Building, Negotiating, and Influencing, Communications and Personal Effectiveness_ _and Networking_
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:
- 3rd level degree/sector related qualification or relevant business development experience;
- Previous experience in economic development, FDI or service-related sales and marketing to C-suite executives, private equity or venture capital is a plus
- The ability to bring professionalism, gravitas and credibility to the role and with C-level executives as a public representative of our private agency in the UK market;
- Track record of success in current/past career, specifically in business development & delivery; and/or commercial sales strong relationships with private sector C-suite executives in your current market is a big plus
- Capability to build relationships at senior executive level;
- Knowledge and experience working in some or across sectors is a plus:
- Ability to work well under pressure, flexibly and independently on own initiative;
- The position requires frequent travel to visit prospects within the UK region 10%-30% of the time.
