**THE POSITION**
You will be part of the new Data and Technology Unit (D&T), which belongs to the global TMCP Data Science Group. We strive to create value for patients by enabling data-driven decisions and build understanding of drugs and diseases. Together with other teams (Data Analysis & Visualizations, Data Operation and Processes, Applications and Infrastructure, as well as Data FAIR-ification) in the D&T organization, you will work on modern data science approaches, including pharmacometrics, bioinformatics, systems pharmacology, data enablement and engineering.
As Senior Principal Scientist Semantic Data Integration and User Enablement, you will lead the requirement engineering and development of an overarching knowledge management architecture for clinical development data, metadata, workflows and related SOPs in TMCP Data Science. You have a profound understanding of GxP and can formulate standards and workflows in close collaboration with the D&T teams and neighboring disciplines in TMCP DS and beyond. You will use the latest and best-in-class semantic web and data integration technologies to enable user groups from pharmacometrics, bioinformatics and beyond to work more efficiently with available data resources.
- With your ability to communicate with both scientific as well as more technical IT teams, you will promote a TMCP Data Science-wide solution that eventually feeds into the global data and knowledge infrastructure of BI and be responsible for the whole user enablement process. With your self-confident and winning personality, you will drive a continuous change and digital transformation process. You will define KPIs to measure success and present your results to the TMCP Data Science leadership team and beyond. In this highly responsible position, you can make a real impact by increasing the efficiency of drug development by the way data is available within TMCP.
**Tasks & responsibilities**- With your expertise, you will guide the development of semantic data integration solutions for TMCP and beyond.-
- Furthermore, you will develop technology and data specifications for a common knowledge management solution and its interfaces in close collaboration with pharmacometrics and bioinformatics user groups in TMCP and beyond.-
- In close collaboration with D&T and IT teams, you will integrate and homogenize internal and external large scale data sources in a unifying feature space.-
- In addition, you will lead the creation of ontologies for nomenclatures used in drug development processes in close collaboration with the Data FAIR-ification Team, internal interfaces and scientific user groups.-
- The communication with stakeholders within TMCP and the promotion of novel solutions within the company will round out your profile.**Requirements**:
- Master's degree in bio-, medical or business informatics, or equivalent. Ph.D. in natural sciences or engineering with several years of experience in drug development, life sciences or nutritional sciences industry required. Proven track record of successful digital transformation projects, user enablement projects and/or product launches-
- Good programming skills of scientific programming languages required (such as R, Python, Java, Matlab, C++ or alike)-
- Profound knowledge and hands-on expertise of semantic web technologies, knowledge graph tools and ontologies-
- Expertise in the usage of big databases such as UK Biobank would be a plus.-
