**Duties**:

- Serve as the Systems Administrator responsible for managing all aspects for the virtualization system architecture.
- Assist in developing the strategy for optimal use of virtualization products and system integration with other collaborative tools within the organization.
- Provide design, management, and improvement to the enterprise VMware vSphere infrastructure.
- Oversee the virtualized server infrastructure and take a leading role in implementing upgrades and patch management across the entire organization.
- Review, interpret, and execute Department of Defense (DoD), Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA), and command policies and guidelines for data, and system security.
- Ensure all Regional Cyber Center-Europe (RCC-E) host servers in all environments are always in compliance with Army Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patches and security policies and procedures.

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, within 6 months of entry onto duty.
- Duties of the position may require shifted work hours based on operational or mission requirements. Permanent change of shift may/will be at the determination of the second level supervision.
- The incumbent may be on an "on-call" status on a rotational basis.
- Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.
- May be required to carry a Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) cellular device
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a USAREUR Driver's license within 60 days of employment.
- Position requires employee to successfully complete locally identified recurring Information Assurance Security training.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid official U.S. Passport.
- This position MAY be eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed Unscheduled Telework.

**Specialized and Other Experience**: One year of specialized experience which Installing, configuring, managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing VMware vSphere infrastructure to include vCenter, ESXi, and virtual machines(VMs); performing system administration on virtual servers using local collaborative tools; providing technical advice on the implementation of diverse operating and information systems; and implementing system security procedures in accordance with established guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
- The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
