**JOB TITLE: Russian-Ukrainian LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR**

**DATES: 05/13/2024-09/20/2024**

**SCHEDULE**: Mon -Fri 8:40 AM-3:50 PM

Language on Demand, Inc., located in Northern Virginia (United States), offers a full range of language solutions including translation, interpretation, and language training to the government and commercial clients.

**Description**:
LOD is seeking **IN-PERSON** Russian-Ukrainian Language Instructor to teach a working adult students located in Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Conduct daily lessons, mínimally six, 50-minute periods. (Excluding U.S Holidays)
- Assign homework on a daily basis that is tailored to the needs of each student.
- Provide feedback on completed homework assignments, identifying problem areas and conducting immediate remediation.
- Counsel students on academic progress.
- Provide tutorials as needed or requested by students before/after the six periods each day.
- Conduct student's target language level assessment, prepare improvement plans, and materials including current and authentic sources and media (printed, audio, visual, electronic).
- Create a syllabus and weekly lesson plans for the course.
- Areas of emphasis and focus: dialects, slang expressions, specialized terminology (e.g. military/security, political, economic, scientific/technological, culture/social, geography), grammar, vocab, oral communication, pronunciation, structure, listening and reading comprehension, writing, gisting, translation, interpretation/transcription.
- Instructor should evaluate student's progress and prepare progressive reports.

**Qualifications**:
Russian-Ukrainian proficiency shall be proved with one of followings:

- (A) a native speaker
- (B) or that the proposed instructor obtained TL proficiency through formal education (courses completed at an institution of higher learning taught in the TL)
- _(C) _or TL-proficiency certification (Interagency Language Roundtable/STANAG 6001 Level 4 or Common European Framework of Reference Level C2).

English proficiency hall be proved with one of followings:

- (A) as a native speaker;
- (B) through formal education (courses completed at an institution of higher learning taught in English - course materials, reading assignments, papers, and presentations in English);
- (C) by English-language proficiency certification (Interagency Language Roundtable/ STANAG 6001 Level 2 or Common European Framework of Reference Level B2 - Equivalent of IELTS 8.0-9.0, TOEFL 114-120);
- _(D) _or with documentation of English-language use in a work environment where English was the primary means of communication.
- **Bachelor’s degree or higher (MA or PhD is highly desired) in: Teaching Russian-Ukrainian as a Foreign Language; Foreign Language Education; Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language (ESL/EFL);**:

- Five years or more of significant, recent, and relevant experience in teaching Russian-Ukrainian to foreign, adult learners that work in US Department of Defense (DOD), Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), and Department of State(DOS) environments.
- Five years or more of personal life and work experience in one or more countries in which Russian-Ukrainian is spoken as a first language.

Hourly Rate will be determined based on experience.
