**Choose the best place for your work - Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.**

**Your tasks and responsibilities**:

- You are responsible for productization and clinical validation of algorithms. For that, you will oversee and manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of state-of-the-art algorithms for various clinical problems
- You establish and improve efficient metrics/ evaluation criterion to assess the performance, efficiency, stability, reliability, generalizability and explainability of AI algorithms by running technical and clinical studies
- You provide expertise for proving the effectiveness and safety of the AI algorithms using scientific methods to support regulatory approval and clinical studies globally following different regulatory standards and guidelines to ensure approval of AI products.
- You manage a small team of data scientists, interns and working students including team building, development, and supervision
- You establish strong relations with stakeholders in the business and help to execute the AI product roadmap for the business line.

**Your qualifications and experience**:

- You possess a completed university degree (PhD) in Computer Science/Engineering or related fields with focus on Machine Learning, Image Processing, Computer Vision, Medical Imaging or related domains
- You have many years of end-to-end experience leading collaborative data science projects in an industry setting
- You have team management and skill development experience with additionally proven disciplinary leadership responsibility
- You have broad knowledge in Medical Imaging and Machine Learning, Experiences with best practices in model development, deployment, and operation
- You have additional many years knowledge of (MLOps), including model tracking, model governance, multiple models in different production context
- You have a strong track-record of algorithm development in computer vision tasks such as image segmentation, registration, classification, or clinical data analysis
- You have a profound understanding of design and development of products under Medical Device Quality Management System

**Your attributes and skills**:

- You have the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English and provide high quality visual representations of achieved results. Working knowledge of German is a plus
- You have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills and are highly motivated, with a good work ethic and maturity
