**Description**:

We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated scientist to complete a Ph.D. in the field of translational leukemia research. Our research group is a young, interdisciplinary, flexible, and innovative team, which is composed of physicians and various scientists from the fields of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. We work in highly modern laboratories, with the availability of all common working techniques. We put emphasis on successful onboarding and structured scientific guidance. Our research is currently funded, among others, by the Else-Kröner Fresenius Foundation, the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, and the German Research Foundation. The project is based on preliminary work investigating the role of ASXL1 in leukemogenesis.
Die Stelle im Überblick
Translational Ph.D. project aiming at the development of targeted therapies and biomarkers for difficult-to-treat leukemia patients
Subsequent mechanistic description and transfer to the human disease situation with the possibility of performing bioinformatical analyses independently
Possible cooperation and synergies with a single-cell sequencing project following the same objective and being carried out by our group at the BIMSB
**Methods/technologies**: Mouse work, protein biochemistry, flow cytometry, RNA/DNA sequencing, CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, bioinformatics/data science
**Model systems**: genetically modified pre-clinical, among others, mouse models, cell lines, primary patient material and patient datasets
Danach suchen wir
Degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine, computational biology, pharmacy, bioengineering or similar
A high degree of motivation and commitment and good communication skills
Solid knowledge of molecular and cell biology
Very good proficiency in English
