- Stellenbeschreibung**THE ROLE**
As we continue to expand our product lines and global footprint, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Designer to join our dynamic product development team. It's a great opportunity to be a part of a team that will develop a new product. The Industrial Designer will be responsible for designing and developing products that are not only aesthetically appealing but also highly functional and manufacturable. This role requires a deep understanding of the entire design process, from concept development to final production, ensuring that the end product aligns with the company’s brand and customer needs.
**YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW**
- Concept Development: Generate and develop innovative product concepts based on market research, customer needs, and emerging trends.
- 3D Modeling & Rendering: Create detailed 3D models and high-quality renderings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD) to visualize concepts and communicate ideas effectively.
- Prototyping: Develop prototypes, either digitally or physically, to test and refine designs. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
- Materials & Manufacturing: Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for each project, ensuring designs are practical, sustainable, and meet budget constraints.
- User-Centered Design: Conduct user research and ergonomics studies to ensure that products meet customer expectations in terms of usability and comfort.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and production, to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the development process.
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and projects stay within budget.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor products, and market demands to inform design decisions.
- Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable design principles into products, considering environmental impact throughout the product’s lifecycle.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for production, ensuring all relevant data is accurately communicated to the manufacturing team.
**HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE**
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial design or product development, preferably in the cycling industry
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g.,SolidWorks, Rhino)
- Experience with rendering software (e.g.,KeyShot, V-Ray) and graphic design tools (e.g.,Adobe Creative Suite)
- Knowledge of prototyping techniques and tools (e.g.,3D printing, CNC machining)
- Design Skills: Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful design projects, demonstrating creativity, technical proficiency and an understanding of market trends
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Other Requirements:
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in design
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Travel:
- Frequent travel (approx. 5%) through Europe, Asia, and the United States will be required to visit other office locations, attend conferences, visit suppliers and customers, conduct market research and collaborate on projects
- A valid passport and willingness to travel internationally are essential for this role
