EIT Health, a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) under the umbrella of the European Institute
of Innovation and Technology (EIT), is focused on supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and
education, to promote healthy living, support active ageing and improve healthcare. EIT Health brings
together leading organisations along the entire value chain - smaller companies, larger firms, excellent
academic and research institutions, and public sector organisations. Together we work toward a
healthier Europe by removing barriers to innovation, promoting talent and education, leveraging
enabling technologies and exploiting big data. EIT Health has Central Offices in Munich and develops
activities across a network of co-location centres (CLCs) in Paris, Dublin, Barcelona, Rotterdam,
Stockholm, Vienna and Mannheim. In addition, the InnoStars office in Budapest involves Partners from
Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Italy. EIT Health includes more than 130 partners.
- EIT Health executes a portfolio of 100+ projects per year and is therefore now seeking to appoint a
- Business Creation Lead, reporting to CLC Managing Director, with 80% of time allocated to working on
- pillar activities, managed by the Business Creation Director and/or relevant Head from the Business
- Creation team.

the wider Business Creation team.
- Interacts with Education Leads based in CLCs to provide content on programmes for
better recruitment.
About the role and your responsibilities:
Your role as EIT Health Spain Business Creation Lead will focus on supporting the CLC’s portfolio of start
- ups and collaborating with colleagues across Europe in revenue-generating EIT Health activities, with a
strong focus on deploying these activities in Spain. In parallel, you will also act as the representative
person in Europe for the Spanish Start-up ecosystem.
Supporting Start-ups: Your tasks will include scouting and screening high-potential start-ups, taking an
active role in the start-up journey, and providing continuous business development support to selected
and supported start-ups, depending on their specific needs.

Supporting Revenue generating EIT Health activities: As part of the European team supporting the
development, recruitment, and programme management of the European Accelerator Programmes.
Representative role: Representing the Spanish CLC’s portfolio of start-ups in Europe, promoting the local
ecosystem, defending challenges and highlighting trends, and bringing these opportunities to the
European level. In addition, you will be the ambassador of EIT Health activities related to start-ups,
access to finance and accelerator programmes, and act as the spokesperson in your local ecosystem to
implement the EIT Health strategy including its sustainability model, when requested.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage and provide support to allocated start-ups across all maturity levels in the CLC.
- Provide CLC Spain perspective into all Business Creation programmes/criteria and decisions by
- engaging with your key counterparts and colleagues, EIT Health’s Ecosystem Leads.- Networking in the field of life sciences and facilitating connections with start-ups with partners,
- investors, experts etc.- Taking an active role in the start-up journey and understanding their individual needs.
- Identifying deal-flow opportunities from the start-up perspective.
- Shaping the start-up investment pipeline from both the institutional and start-up angle
- Encouraging start-up engagement and sharing success stories.
- Interacting with other Business Creation Leads at other EIT Health CLCs and programme
managers at the Central Office level to support the coordination of both regional and European
accelerator activities.
- Collaborate and align with the Entrepreneurship Lead from your CLC to understand and support
local audience’s needs.
- Support contracted services for corporations (aka Open Innovation as a Service): prospect
phase and implementation.
Your functional skills and experience:
- Professional degree in life sciences, and/or innovation management, engineering, or economics
with a deep understanding of the health tech sector and its start-up scene.
- At least 5 years of professional experience with a background and a strong network in the life
- science industry (pharma/biotech/medtech/Digital Health).
