For over ten years, we have been developing, maintaining, and internationalizing Lidl's digital business models. With Lidl online shop, Lidl plus and other digital services we operate in more +20 countries. In our Neckarsulm (Heilbronn region) headquarters, our digital branch office in Berlin and hub in Barcelona, the international threads of Lidl's digital activities come together. And we keep growing. We want to activate the whole organization in data discipline therefore we need to take special care on how to put our data in action. That is why we want to grow in people to help us in that field - at Neckarsulm or Berlin.

Deine Aufgaben
- You are responsible for the vision of the search engine at Lidl Digital. You guide your team to develop new features and improved algorithms in line with your strategy
- Together with your team, you account for a stable infrastructure to operate Lidl Digital’s search engine for several multinational online shops
- You prioritize the backlog without losing track of your product vision
- You define and keep track of key KPIs of your product and work closely with stakeholders to achieve your goals
- As a product owner with strong technical background, you serve as a valuable sparring partner for your data science team members

Dein Profil
- Educational Background: You have completed your Bachelor or Master studies in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or a similar quantitative field
- Professional background: 3+ years of experience working as a data scientist or similar, ideally in a cloud-based big data environment (Azure, Hive, Spark). You have hands on experience with search engines and search models. Related models like NLP and learning-to-rank are a plus. You bring a broad understanding of CI/CD pipelines and APIs and you can discuss topics like these on equal terms with software developers. E-commerce knowledge is preferred
- Knowledge: You have experience in Solr or Elasticsearch, Lucene systems or similar, Python (required) and one or several of the following libraries: scikit-learn, tensorflow, xgboost, nltk
- Make a difference: You are eager to develop a vision and strategy for your product team. You think big and like to explore synergies and opportunities across teams and products
- Communication: You are open-minded and have strong communication skills. You raise your voice and opinion no matter if you are talking to your product team, your boss or the boss of your boss
