Product Owner - Search

We're looking for a motivated and driven Product Owner for Search who will help us shape our team, drive the company to the next level, and have the most direct influence on our success.

As a Search team, our goal is to simplify the user experience and provide enough information (without overwhelming the user) to find their perfect trip easily. We achieve that by analyzing data and conducting regular user research, ensuring that we focus on good solutions for real user issues. Looking into the future, we aim to make even more use of our big data to enhance the user experience with relevant statistics and insights at the right moment in their journey.

You will be joining a supportive, international cross-functional team, which currently works in a hybrid mode (combination of on-site and home-office) and is based in Berlin. We meet regularly for lunch or do interesting team events, like the high ropes course, meeting in the park or bar after work.

The team currently consists of a Product Owner, three Backend engineers, two Front-end engineers, one Agile Tester, and a UI/UX Designer.

**Your Tasks - Paint the world green**:

- Leading product for our Search domain, you will focus on topics such as the development of search product concepts
- You work with key stakeholders to define, design, implement and optimise search
- You create and maintain an exceptional understanding of the target user and their current and future needs
- You own, prioritise and refine the product backlog, in line with the strategic vision, including but not limited to writing user stories
- You own product planning, estimates, delivery, reporting
- You have a good understanding of emerging technologies and align the roadmap with the product backlog and vice versa
- You work with your stakeholders in the organisation to gather their support and deliver on their needs
- You create and maintain a strong understanding of the competitor landscape and strategic opportunities and challenges
- You are skilled at developing hypotheses and validating them through A/B testing.
- You have a customer-centric and analytical mindset, making strategic product decisions grounded in data.
- You are passionate about product discovery and experimentation

**Your Profile - Ready to hop on board**:

- Bachelor/Master in informatics, computer science or similar
- Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
- Knowledge of online industry trends and very interested in learning and becoming an expert in product management for search.
- Passion for digital products, services and for problem-solving
- Background in developing and architecting systems, architectural and dev-ops work is useful but not mandatory
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Team player, full of empathy and intuition, properties you self-evidently call your own
- Ability to understand what is happening with the product
- Fluent in English; every other European language is a plus
