Local Unit & Position Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Head of Public Affairs to engender greater awareness, understanding and advocacy of DNV Maritime, the world’s leading classification society, among key industry stakeholders and the greater public.

This new position will be an integral part of the global Maritime Communications & Marketing organization, comprising a committed team of 28 international marketing and communications experts in 8 countries across the globe.

The Head of Public Affairs will be responsible for creating a public affairs and CEO positioning strategy designed to support goals underpinning DNV Maritime’s Strategy to 2025 with a specific focus on influencing global decision-makers and influencers in key markets. Ensuring close alignment with the central Business Development, Regulatory Affairs and Group Communications teams will be key to success.

The position will be based either in Hamburg or Oslo and will report directly to the Communications & Marketing Director Maritime.

**Your responsibilities**
- Develop a public affairs strategy in alignment with the Communications & Marketing Director and central Business Development and Regulatory Affairs
- Support the Maritime CEO to leverage relationships with regulators and key stakeholders in government and industry organizations to foster greater stakeholder awareness, understanding and advocacy of DNV Maritime, its services, policies and insight reports
- Map key stakeholders, monitor their activities and share insights with the wider organization
- Drive increased participation of industry influencers and decision-makers in DNV’s flagship launches and events
- Leverage existing industry partnerships
- Drive the identification and execution of public speaking opportunities for the CEO
- Support the CEO with the development of strategic messaging, presentations, op-eds, briefings, lines to take, speaker notes and speeches
- Establish KPIs linked to performance and produce impact reports demonstrating progress against pre-agreed goals

Position Qualifications:

- University degree in Journalism, Marketing & Communications, Media Management, Business Administration or similar
- At least 10 years of working experience in a challenging environment on the corporate or media side
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing public affairs strategies, messaging, and activity plans
- Experience in designing communications strategies and drafting impactful speeches
- Proven leadership experience and project management skills
- Experience as a trusted advisor to top management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of an international, virtual team
- Experience of working within the Maritime industry would be an advantage
