**Your role**
- Do you know how to keep an eye out for and mitigate risk? Are you skilled at assessing processes and making improvements?
- We are looking for a Business Risk Specialist, whose role is to support the risk owners in managing risks. As part of the first line of defence (1st LoD), you will be asked to act as a sparring partner for our Advisory & Sales teams verifying that UBS’ risk strategy and policies are communicated, implemented, and enforced. The range of topics you will need to cover is broad.
- For example:
- you are the first point of entry for the Advisory & Sales (A&S) Head Germany for all risk related topics in his/ her area of responsibility.
- your first task will be to verify that A&S’s 1st LoD risk framework continues to be fit for purpose.
- you will work closely with all Advisory & Sales (A&S) units enabling them to comply with all risk topics related to A&S.
- you will analyze, define and improve the A&S risk landscape and control framework.
- your main responsibility will include advising, supporting and challenging risk owners / risk takers:

- With the ambition to support them in managing risk effectively and foster an embedded risk culture;
- Regarding risk considerations in strategic & tactical discussions and decision making;
- In their responsibility to understand and prioritize risk, including the identification of risks, conduct of impact assessments, risk mitigation, training of employees and reporting of risk.
- you will regularly evaluate and improve the existing control framework, developing metrics to evaluate and mitigate risk, putting new processes into action and systematically tracking these.
- you will perform A&S controls as appropriated and follow-up on control results (remediation of deficiencies, identification, and mitigation of systemic issues).
- you will investigate complex situations, carry out risk-oriented reviews, constructively challenge the status quo and provide effective risk advice to senior management.
- using your Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge you will support the business to identify risks, contribute to the development of risk mitigating measures and business / regulatory initiatives.
- you will be responsible to combine and provide transparent risk reporting to your stakeholders.

**Your team**
- You will be working in the multilingual and multicultural Business Risk Organization team of UBS ESE Germany. We provide services which support the risk owners / risk takers to manage risks. These include:

- responsibility for the local operational Risk Management within all Wealth Management segments including Advisory & Sales and work closely together with A&S and local Market staff as well as colleagues of the Group. Work base is Frankfurt.

**Your expertise**
- Experience with in-depth knowledge of investment management, advisory or trading processes including the cross-border, operational, legal, tax, and credit risk aspects
- Knowledge of business processes in Advisory & Sales and/or Wealth Management
- Experience as client facing employee is a significant advantage
- Ability to build harmonious, effective and responsive relationships with cross-functional partners
- Strong communication skills for information and negotiation at various seniority levels
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter who is able to work both independently and within a team
- Proactive, driven and committed team player with a flexible personality, able to self-motivate, work independently, organize yourself
- Fluent in German and English. Additional language skills in Spanish, Portuguese and/or Danish highly welcome
- Good MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
