**Duties**:

- Plan and execute an intelligence related personnel security program and an information security program in accordance with security directives, regulations, guidance, policies, and procedures.
- Interpret and provide technical advice to security managers and supervisors regarding the requirements for personnel security clearances and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) access.
- Responsible for the classification, safeguarding, and destruction of information.
- Conduct, process, and adjudicate security clearances.
- Determine eligibility for interim clearance and access to sensitive information.
- Maintain clearance and access rosters and update the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) database.
- Issue courier letters and cards.
- Conduct security violation inquiries and investigations.
- Review contract documentation to identify the level and kind of secure work to be performed in facilities.

**Requirements**:
**Conditions of Employment**:

- Must be able to obtain the SFPC certification; as mandated by the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program, within the first two years of employment, and yearly SPeD certifications, thereafter.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a Single-scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented Information (SCI).

- Prior Federal Service Employee- Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.**Specialized Experience**: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves the adjudication of security investigations, the review of an individual's clearance level, the classification/declassification of sensitive documents/information, and the storage of classified information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).**OR**

**Education**: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position in an Intelligence related field of study.**OR**

**Combination of Education and Experience**:A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

- Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating Change 1, 15 May 2008).
