**Your tasks and responsibilities**

Being a key actor in the ideation and proposition of advanced materials solutions for future requirements (e.g. H2 ecosystem, more electric, etc.).

The jobholder is responsible for the scientific execution in assigned projects.
- Proposing and defining advanced materials solutions for specific, mostly multi-physics requirement
- Developing and proposing research projects in the field of system ready materials solutions in accordance with the Central Research & Technology strategic path
- Scientific driven research execution with its own responsibility in a transnational organization and within an international network with many academic partners (academics, universities, technology institutes,...), industrial partners or start-ups
- Exchange with the materials and integrated systems (e.g. advanced propulsion) ecosystem to maintain and lead the state-of-the art in the respective field
- Continue to acquire high level technical skills along materials as a system thinking, enabling multi-functionality, while living E2E sustainable thinking of materials life-cycles.

**Desired skills and qualifications**
- You are educated to a PhD or Master degree in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Surface technology or similar field of study
- You have a very good understanding of:

- advanced systems and their impact on materials requirements. (e.g. multi-physics thinking)
- of chemistry, advanced processing from surface to bulk
- of LCA (life-cycle-analysis) driven optimisation with special focus on cradle-to-gate or gate-to-gate thinking
- You have an open mindset and like to work in an international environment
- You have the ability to analyze and synthesis and are curious
- You like to push topics like as an entrepreneur and think in values and less in problems
- You have a strong knowledge on aircraft systems today and strong interest in future / disruptive aerospace systems (energy, propulsion, airframe, added functions) -> ability to think in very different scales from eco impact to tiny technic bricks
- You are a “digital native” with a full skill set on multi-physics & system simulation / optimization and statistical / AI supported assessment routines (data analytics) for multi-scale / multi-hierarchical system evaluations -> get the most out of data
- You have experience in supporting technical concepts with capable materials, processes and design solutions
- You speak English as a native Speaker, (understanding German or French would be a plus)
