Secretary General

**ENGAGE.EU** is seeking a **Secretary General** to strengthen its ambitions as a European University alliance. In this newly developed position, the Secretary General will play a pivotal role in the development and success of the ENGAGE.EU alliance. Home to over 125,000 learners and 14,000 staff, ENGAGE.EU is an alliance of nine leading European research universities in business, economics, and social sciences. As the strongest partners in their regional ecosystems, the consortium is characterised by its rich experience in analysing societal change, fostering societal development and building economic capability.

ENGAGE.EU is committed to fostering societal change by addressing existing and emerging challenges such as digitalisation, climate change, migration, energy crisis and economic deglobalisation in Europe and beyond. In doing so, we aim to develop solutions for a sustainable and positive future. We strive to empower our students to show social responsibility, act as European citizens engaged in social issues, and make an impact on society at large. All this is based on dedicated and effective research, teaching, and innovation ecosystems.

The Secretary General is tasked with the coordination and implementation of the mission and goals of ENGAGE.EU and the high-level execution of the ENGAGE.EU workplan as financed by the Erasmus Plus programme until October 2027. The Secretary General represents the Alliance externally and is an important link to the European Higher Education network in Europe and beyond.

The ENGAGE.EU secretariat is located at the University of Mannheim, and therefore there is a strong preference for the Secretary-General to be based at or near Mannheim. The university is a founding member of ENGAGE.EU and the coordinating university of the alliance.

The salary is commensurate with the seniority of the position.
