- is a student in the field of computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics or similar,
- has very good programming experience in C++ or Python,
- has solid prior knowledge in robotics and control,
- has practical experience with ROS,
- optionally has theoretical or practical experience in machine learning or reinforcement learning,
- is committed, motivated, independent and has a structured way of working,
- can work between 10 and 19 hours per week.
**Your Duties and Responsibilities**:
Some of your tasks will include:
- Support the development of a software framework enabling training on the robotic arm,
- Support in the extension of a polishing task to challenging 3D geometries and the development of a traditional controller for this task,
- Training and testing RL policies on the robotic arm.
**What We Offer**:
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of initially 3 months.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 10-19 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 13.00 € per hour.
