Scope of workfull-time position suitable for part-time**Responsibilities**:
Research associates will be expected primarily to teach and conduct research. The research associate will also have the opportunity to pursue further academic qualifications, in particular a doctoral dissertation or a Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification). Therefore, at least one-third of set working hours will be made available for the associate’s own academic work.

Specific Duties

We are looking for a Phd student or a Postdoc to join our group. The position allows for conducting research on a wide range of topics related to efficient algorithms for machine learning and deep learning. The position comes with a small teaching load of four hours per week, preferably in German.

**Requirements**:
Phd position:

- A university degree in a relevant field.

Postdoc position:
For both positions, excellent knowledge of machine learning, a solid background in CS and math, and solid programming skills in Python or C++ are mandatory. The desire to conduct and enjoy excellent research and to publish at the leading machine learning conferences is highly beneficial. While the working language in the group is English, the knowledge of German is a plus.

The advertised position is aimed at both suitable master’s degree graduates looking to undertake doctoral studies, as well as suitable applicants who have already completed their doctoral studies. The opportunity to pursue further qualifications is also available to doctoral graduates.
