Scope of workfull-time position suitable for part-time**Responsibilities**:
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. They may also pursue doctoral studies outside of working duties.
Specific Duties
The research group of Petra Berenbrink at Universität Hamburg is among the leading research groups in Germany in the areas of theory of distributed and parallel computing. The research group acquired several research projects in cooperation with several national and international researchers.
Our research group is now looking for postdoctoral researchers or a PhD student to work opinion distributed processes. Addition to research work, postdocs participate in the supervision of students but there are no teaching duties. The contracts include occupational health benefits. The starting dates are negotiable and there is an option to renew the contract by another 2-3 years if the project is extended.
**Requirements**:
A university degree in a relevant field.
Excellent knowledge in theoretical computer science or discrete mathematics. Experience in the analysis of algorithms or random processes is desirable but not required. A good knowledge of the English language, the ability to perform independent research, and the desire to push yourself and your knowledge are expected. A doctorate is desirable.
