**Reference number**: 2024/020. The position is available from April 2024, and it is limited for three years with the possibility of an extension for another three years. In principle, this position can be divided into two-half time positions.

The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy.

Applicants are invited for a highly skilled and motivated researcher in the decision sciences or related fields to conduct research on an international level.

Your Responsibilities
- Design, perform and supervise research
- Seek and obtain external research funding
- Attract and co-supervise Bachelor, Master and PhD students
- Publish papers in refereed journals
- Interact with other scientists at the university and internationally in a multidisciplinary fashion interlinking the existing research strengths of the university
- Contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and / or graduate courses with 4 hours per week (typically 2 courses per semester)

Your Competencies
- A PhD qualification in psychology or a related field (e.g., biology, computer sciences, sociology)
- Strong background in the decision sciences / computational social sciences with a focus on risk perception and communication
- Strong methodological background in experimental design, statistics, modeling and programming
- Experience in writing (as first author) peer-reviewed journal articles
- Strong written and verbal communications skills. Knowledge of English language is mandatory, knowledge of German language is appreciated
