Juniorprofessur für Control of Movement in Biology & Robotics (Besoldungsstufe: W1) mit Tenure Track auf W3

in Beamtenverhältnis auf Zeit zu besetzen.

Wir sind auf der Suche nach einem/r außergewöhnlichen Nachwuchswissenschaftler/in (m/w/d), der/die Interesse daran hat, zu verstehen, wie das biologische oder künstliche Gehirn komplexe Bewegungsabläufe steuern kann und diese Einblicke zu nutzen, um sowohl gesunden als auch kranken Menschen dabei zu helfen, mittels Robotertechnik ein besseres Leben zu führen. Wir suchen nach außergewöhnlichen Kandidat/innen (m/w/d), deren wissenschaftlicher Hintergrund ein breites Spektrum, das von Human Motor Neuroscience und Human Movement Science, Computational Motor Control, Biomimetik, Biorobotik und Neurorobotik, Robot Learning, Human-Robot-Interaction, Human Interfacing über Neurotechnik bis hin zu Rehabilitation und Robotik im Gesundheitswesen reicht, zu bieten hat.

Die Position an der Fakultät ist am noch zu begründenden Institut für Künstliche & Menschliche Intelligenz angesiedelt und wird von der neu begründeten Fakultät für Lebenswissenschaften: Lebensmittel, Ernährung und Gesundheit am neuen Campus Kulmbach betrieben. Ein Interesse in translationalen Anwendungen mit Patient*innen und klinischer Validierung ist höchst wünschenswert und wird durch ein weitläufiges Ökosystem klinischer Institutionen mit riesigen Patient*innenkohorten, die an Bewegungsstörungen und Lähmungen leiden, gefördert. Den Professor*innen an der Fakultät für Lebenswissenschaften wird die Möglichkeit einer Zweitmitgliedschaft an einer anderen Fakultät der Universität eröffnet.

Die Lehrerwartungen enthalten einen Beitrag zu unserem noch zu begründenden, englischsprachigen Master in AI Science sowie zu Kursen der Fakultät für Lebenswissenschaften: Lebensmittel, Ernährung und Gesundheit, die Themen behandeln, die sich auf Datenwissenschaft, Gesundheitstechnologien, Lebenswissenschaften und digitale Technologien beziehen. Die Erwartungen bestehen sowohl aus einer positiven Entwicklung im Bereich Veröffentlichungen (uns ist bewusst, dass dies - abhängig vom jeweiligen wissenschaftlichen Hintergrund - Zeitschriften und auch Konferenzberichte umfassen kann), einer starken zukünftigen Forschungsvision, der Bereitschaft Drittmittel einzuwerben sowie dem Interesse in der Übersetzung und Anwendung der Forschung.

Zudem erwarten wir eine anfängliche Erfolgsbilanz in der Lehre mit dem Nachweis von Kompetenzen als auch im Zusammenhang mit Beiträgen und Anerkennungen zur jeweiligen wissenschaftlichen Gemeinschaft (erkennbar z.B. durch Preise und Anerkennungen, Vorträge, Organisation von Workshops, etc.). Nicht zuletzt erwarten wir, dass der/die Kandidat/in (m/w/d) nicht nur daran interessiert ist, den eigenen Lehrstuhl zu begründen, sondern auch an der aktiven Teilnahme an der Entwicklung eines spannenden neuen Forschungsinstitutes und der Expansion des exzellenten Rufes unserer Fakultät mitzuarbeiten.

Die Fähigkeit, englischsprachig zu unterrichten, wird erwartet. Internationale Bewerber*innen sollten zumindest mittelfristig in der Lage sein, in deutscher Sprache zu lehren.

Einstellungsvoraussetzungen sind neben den allgemeinen dienstrechtlichen Voraussetzungen ein abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium, pädagogische Eignung und die besondere Befähigung zu wissenschaftlicher Arbeit, die in der Regel durch die herausragende Qualifikation einer Promotion nachgewiesen wird. Seit Abschluss der Promotion (Datum der Promotionsurkunde) sollten nicht mehr als vier Jahre vergangen sein. Des Weiteren gelten die in der Bayreuth Track Satzung der Universität Bayreuth genannten Einstellungsvoraussetzungen.

Die Ernennung erfolgt zunächst für die Dauer von 3 Jahren in einem Beamtenverhältnis auf Zeit. Eine Verlängerung der Juniorprofessur soll mit Zustimmung der Juniorprofessorin bzw. des Juniorprofessors (m/w/d) im Laufe des dritten Jahres um bis zu weitere 3 Jahre erfolgen, wenn sie bzw. er sich als Hochschullehrerin bzw. Hochschullehrer (m/w/d) bewährt hat. Die Lehrverpflichtung beträgt derzeit in der ersten Phase 5 Lehrveranstaltungsstunden und in der zweiten Phase 7 Lehrveranstaltungsstunden.
